Tayeb Salih – The Wedding of Zein -Signed

A rare signed edition of this collection of short stories by the Sudanese author Tayeb Salih.

Translated to the English by Denys Johnson-Davies, with B&W illustrations by Ibrahim Salahi.

Salih was best-known for his 1966 novel in Arabic, Season of Migration to the North, which explores themes of European and British colonialism in Sudan, and their impact on contemporary conflicts in the country.

He worked for various organisations, including the BBC and UNESCO, and is regarded as one of the most important Arab writers of the past century.

Any books carrying his signature are rare.

Signed and dated in Berlin in 1979.
