Map of Palestine – 1843 – Mounted and Framed

An original steel-engraved colour map of Palestine and the surrounding region, published in 1843.

Titled in full as “Palestine with the Hauran and the adjacent districts”, it shows regions of Palestine with hand-coloured boundaries, and a closer-up inset map of Jerusalem in the bottom-right corner.

Published by the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge (SDUK) in London, engraved by W. Hughes and printed by Chapman and Hall. In very good condition indeed.

42cm x 33cm. Sold in a brown/gold edged frame, mounted with a green border.
