A very attractive and unusual edition of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, published in 1912 and illustrated throughout.
The Rubaiyat was hugely popular in the late 1800s and 1900s, with dozens of different editions and versions published. This uses the Edward Fitzgerald translation of the Persian poem, with 38 tipped-in black-and-white photographic plates by Mabel Eardley-Wilmot.
Hardback, bound in cloth with decorative front boards, gilt lettering and vine leaf designs to front and back endpapers. Top edge gilt.
Published by Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner and Co. in London. In very good condition, no writing or markings inside. A few minor marks and minor stains to front board. Binding tight and square.
