The epic autobiographical account of T.E. Lawrence, or Lawrence of Arabia, recounting his time spent fighting with the Arab rebellion against the Ottomans in Palestine, Syria and Jordan during the First World War.
First trade edition, first printing. Published by Jonathan Cape in London in 1935.
The book was first completed in 1922 and initially published in the form of 200 subscriber copies in 1926, before being released in this format in July 1935. It was released just months after Lawrence’s death in a motorcycle accident in rural England.
Hardback. In very good condition. Clean inside with no writing. Complete with all maps, sketches and drawings. Original unclipped jacket, showing some edgewear, creasing, small chips and occasional spots, but above-average for this edition of the book.
672 pages, large format. With four folding maps and numerous full-page B&W sketches and other illustrations.
