Samih al-Qasim – Waiting for the Thunderbird – First Edition 1969

A rare first edition of an early collection of poetry by the Palestinian writer Samih al-Qasim, published by Dar Al-Adab in Beirut in 1969.

This collection was confiscated immediately upon its release, with al-Qasim arrested on charges of having connections with militants who blew up oil pipelines in Haifa.

In good condition. Softback with some creases to front board and wear to edges and corners. Staple-bound. Small inscription to top corner of title page.
