Steel engraving of the 19th century Levant and Sinai published in London in 1843 by the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge (SDUK).

Main map extends from Gaza in the southwest to Antioch and Edessa in the north, and the Euphrates (Efrat) river in the east. Inset map of Sinai and what is now southern Jordan.

Hand coloured in ink, in excellent condition, c400x330mm

Engraved by William Hughes (1818-76) for the collected atlas of 200 SDUK maps published by Chapman and Hall in the 1840s.
