This is the 37th impression of the first edition, published in 1938, with the first having been issued in 1923 in a run of just 2,000 copies. Pre-1940 printings in good condition are hard to find.
The Prophet remains one of the bestselling books of all time and has been translated into dozens of languages. Published by Alfred A. Knopf in New York in 1938. In very good condition. Hardback, black boards with gilt lettering and decorative cover. Fading to spine and to title lettering on front board. Clean and bright inside with no writing, bookplates or other markings. Binding tight and square.
