Jean-Jacques Rousseau – The Confessions – 1982 First Arabic Edition

The first full Arabic edition of Rousseau’s autobiography, covering the period up to his 57th birthday in 1765.

It is regarded as one of the first and finest memoirs ever written, notable for its honesty and authenticity. Other major contemporary writers would later follow suit, penning their own detailed autobiographies.

This text was translated into Arabic from the French in an unabridged form by Professor Khalil Sarkis, resulting in a meticulous, eloquent and faithful version of the original.

Published in 1982 by UNESCO Masterpieces of Humanity collection in Beirut. Now out-of-print and rare. Softback, with card wrappers, some toning and wear externally. Minor tape repair to spine. Clean inside with no writing.
