An attractively-bound collection of prose writing by the American poet Henry Longfellow (1807-1882), best-known for his verse Paul Revere’s Ride, The Song of Hiawatha, and Evangeline.

Comprises Hyperion, Kavanagh and Outre-Mer, with in-text illustrations by John Gilbert.

Bound in full dark brown morocco with gilt borders and decorations to boards. Five raised bands to the spine with gilt lettering. All edges gilt.

Published in 1853 by Routledge in London. In very good condition, some rubbing to spine edges and extremities. No writing inside, mild spotting to early pages. 506 pages.
