Harold Ingrams – Arabia and the Isles – 1946

An early edition of this seminal account of Southern Arabia, focussed on Oman and Yemen’s Hadhramut area, first published in 1942.

Ingrams worked for the British government as Resident Adviser to the Hadhramut in the 1930s, and was closely involved in efforts to broker truces between warring groups.

With many original B&W photos of the region from the 1930s and 1940s, plus a fold-out map of south-west Arabia and the wider region.

Hardback, published by John Murray in 1946, a later printing of the first edition. In good condition., some spotting to spine and slight fading to boards. Neat previous owner’s name inside. 366 pages.
