A charming pocket edition of the first part of Dante’s 14th-century poem The Divine Comedy, published in 1903.

With a portrait of the author to the title page spread, separated by a tissue guard.

Published in London by J.M. Dent as part of its Temple Classics series. A later printing of the 1900 first edition. Bound in an attractive later binding of light brown synthetic leather, with gilt borders, raised bands to the spine, and green marbled endpapers.

In very good condition. Clean inside with no writing. A small white mark to the top of the rear cover.
