Watch Out for Zouzou – خلي بالك من زوزو – Original Movie Poster – 1972

A rare original Arabic-language poster for the 1972 movie Watch Out for Zouzou, the much-loved Egyptian film starring two leading actors of the period, Soad Hosny and Hussein Fahmy.

It tells the story of a student who falls in love with her professor, and explores themes of society, class, and tensions between liberalism and conservatism. The movie featured numerous songs composed specifically for the work, and is regularly cited in lists of the best Egyptian films ever made.

The stunning artwork used for this poster depicts Hosny as a dancer in the centre, framed by the other lead characters against a bright red background. The title is written in multicoloured rainbow letters.

Printed in Beirut (the movie was co-produced by a Lebanese company, Al Sabbah). Folded, in bright and clean condition and in its original state with no restoration carried out. Some wear and creases to edges. Sized 70cm x 100cm.
