A very attractive pocket edition of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam from the 1950s, illustrated and in the original slipcase.

The Rubaiyat was hugely popular in the late 1800s and 1900s, with dozens of different editions and versions published. This uses the Edward Fitzgerald translation of the Persian poem, with 38 tipped-in black-and-white photographic plates by Mabel Eardley-Wilmot.

Softback in red synthetic leather and gilt lettering, in a black patterned slipcase. 127 pages.

Published by Collins in London. Not dated, but approximately 1950s. In very good condition, no writing or markings inside, bright and sharp externally.
