[SOLD] The Arabian Nights – Illustrated – 1920

A superlative example of this illustrated edition of the Arabian Nights, with fantastic watercolours by English artist Charles Folkard.

Fifteen stories feature in the book, including the tales of Aladdin, Ali Baba, Scheherazade and Sindbad the Sailor, with 12 full-page colour illustrations.

This is the 1920 third printing. Bound in decorative cloth with gilt lettering to the spine and front board, and a wonderful illustration of a monkey smoking a shisha pipe.

Hardback. Published in London by A&C Black. In very good condition. Some spotting to early pages, externally minimal wear, a neat previous owner’s inscription inside. Rare to find in such bright and sharp condition.
