An unusual and attractive folding guide to silk and the silkworm, printed in China in the early 20th century.

With watercolours showing various stages in the silk-making cycle, including the silkworm, mulberry trees, spinning, production and uses.

Text in English and Chinese. Watercolours are tipped-in, and bordered with gold ribbon.

Printed on hard boards which fold accordion-style. 21cm x 15cm when folded. In very good condition. Some fading and rubbing to boards. All contents bright and clean.

One of several other ‘Picture Story’ titles released around the same period, with others including depictions of tea-making.
