A rare signed early edition of Paulo Coelho’s bestselling fable, originally published in Portuguese in 1988.

This is the first impression of the first UK paperback edition of the book, published in 1995 by Thorsons.

In good condition, with some minor creases and wear externally. Signed by Paulo Coelho in bright blue ink to the title page.

The Alchemist was first translated into English two years earlier, published by Harper Collins in the US with an initial print run of just 2,000 copies.

Signed examples from this early period of the book’s release are rare.
