[SOLD] Jane Austen – Emma – 1903

A very attractive illustrated edition of Austen’s romantic novel, published in 1903 and in unusually good condition.

Published by Macmillan, this is the second printing of the 1902 Illustrated Pocket Classic edition with black-and-white illustrations by Hugh Thomson.

Bound in red cloth with gilt lettering, which remains clear and bright. Slight forward lean. Very clean front and rear boards with none of the usual stains or marks. Slight fading to spine. Neat previous owner’s inscription to front free endpaper,  otherwise clean inside.
