The memoirs of a Canadian doctor, Gertrude Dyck, who lived and worked in Al Ain for several decades from the 1960s.

Dyck witnessed the transformation of the city and the wider Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Her account features hundreds of remarkable colour photos of Al Ain and the surrounding area, as well as residents, wildlife, landscapes, buildings and other aspects of life.

This is a rare example signed by the author, who died in 2009 and received numerous commendations for her work from Canada and the UAE.

First edition, first impression, published by Motivate in 1995. In very good condition. Hardback. Printed in small numbers and now hard to find in this original edition.
