Freya Stark – The Valleys of the Assassins – 1947

A later printing of this classic piece of travel writing by the acclaimed author and photographer Freya Stark, set in the mountainous Luristan region between present-day Iran and Iraq.

The book first published in 1934, after which Stark went to receive further acclaim with her three books on Yemen, researched in the late 1930s, plus numerous memoirs and travel titles on other countries.

This is a 1947 reprint by John Murray. Hardback, in a well-preserved original jacket, not price-clipped. In good condition. Some marks and stains to the jacket, clean inside with no writing.  With several sketch maps of the region.
