One of the great explorers of Arabia and the Middle East, Freya Stark wrote this account of her extraordinary travels in Yemen and the Empty Quarter in the winter of 1937-8. The result is a beautiful description of rarely-seen areas of the Arabian Peninsula.

Winter in Arabia is considered as one of the most important titles in the annals of Arabian travel and exploration, and was named as one of the ‘Best Travel Books of the Past Century’ by the Times.
