A 1977 original folding map of the Arabian Gulf, published soon after the formation of the United Arab Emirates in 1971.

Shows the entirety of the Gulf region, with 10 smaller inset city-centre maps of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras al-Khaimah, Kuwait City, Muscat, Riyadh, Manama, Doha, Dammam and Matruh.

Other detail includes pipelines, major roads, islands, oil fields, railways, airports, wells, marshes and more, with colour shading and notable heights marked in metres.

Measures 78cm x 100cm without frame. On a 1:1,500,000 scale. Printed by John Bartholomew & Son in Edinburgh, 1977. First edition of this map.
