Antoine de St Exupery – Le Petit Prince – 1958

A nice early French-language printing of this classic children’s story, written and illustrated by French author and pilot Antoine de St. Exupery.

The Little Prince remains one of the bestselling books in history and has been translated into hundreds of languages. It was first published in 1943 in New York, almost simultaneously in French and English.

St. Exupery was tragically killed in a plane crash over the Mediterranean in 1944, shortly after the book’s release.

This is a 1958 printing in Paris by Gallimard, with card wrappers and the traditional French folding flaps. Illustrated in colour throughout by the author.

In unusually good condition for a printing of this title from this period. No major folds or creases externally. Some rubbing and toning externally. Neat gift inscription inside, otherwise clean and bright with no writing.
