A first paperback edition, in English, of Camus’ novel which recounts a plague outbreak in the Algerian city of Oran.

It is considered to be a classic of the existentialist genre, and based on the author’s own experiences in Algeria during the 1940s.

The novel first appeared in French in 1947, with the English translation released a year later. This is a first printing of the Penguin paperback edition from 1960. In good condition, with minor wear externally. No writing inside.
