A first edition, first printing of the first paperback edition. Published by Puffin in 1961.

In very good condition. No writing or markings inside. Minor creasing to bottom corner of front cover, some bumping to corners. The book has a slight lean, and tanning to pages as is normal with this title.

This edition of Tolkien’s novel is a more affordable – but still collectible – alternative to the rare first hardback edition of the book. Increasingly hard to find.
