[SOLD] Lehnert and Landrock – Egypt: The Land of the Pharaohs in Historical Photographs
A wonderful collection of black-and-white images from the famous German photographers, taken in the first few decades of the 20th century.
After years of travelling and documenting life in Tunisia and Algeria, Lehner and Landrock set up their studio in Downtown Cairo in 1924. This book offers a unique window on Egypt and its people at the time, covering Cairo, Alexandria, Port Said, the Pyramids, Luxor and the Egyptian Museum.
Their work was revived in the 1990s, with the rediscovery of hundreds of original plates, and has since been the subject of numerous international exhibitions.
Hardback, 2009, Palmyra Publishing House (Germany). Condition as-new.
