A seminal account of Southern Arabia, particularly Oman and Yemen’s Hadhramut area, first published in 1942.

Ingrams worked for the British government as Resident Adviser to the Hadhramut in the 1930s, and was closely involved in efforts to broker truces between warring groups.

This is the updated and expanded 1966 edition of the book. It features many original B&W photos of the region from the 1930s and 1940s, plus a fold-out map of south-west Arabia

Hardback, published by John Murray in 1966. In very good condition. Original unclipped jacket. Previous owner’s name written to front endpaper. Otherwise clean and bright inside.
