Doctor Zhivago was initially banned in the Soviet Union, and was first published in Russian in Italy in 1957. The first trade edition of the book was published a year later.

This is the first printing, first edition of the English translation, hardback, published by Harvill Secker in 1958. In very good condition. Minor loss to top of jacket spine. A neat contemporary owner’s inscription to the front endpaper, otherwise clean inside. Binding tight and square.
