A rare copy of the March 1972 edition of Kuwait’s Al Arabi magazine, with an extended feature story on the formation of the UAE.
The cover celebrates the birth of the UAE in December 1971, then the decision by Ras al-Khaimah to join the union in February 1972, leading to the final creation of the modern-day country.
The feature story features analysis of the news, plus a series of contemporary photos and other illustrations of the UAE.
Al Arabi was founded in 1958 in Kuwait and was a pre-eminent publication in the Gulf at this time, when the Emirati press was yet to become established.
In very good condition. Colour. Some rubbing and edgewear. Clean inside with no writing and inscriptions.
